Scope and Content
The typewritten report gives a history of the Jewish elementary school Duisburg from 1826 to 1942. Short biographies of its teachers, interaction with the authorities and background information is provided. During 1929 the maximum number of pupils, 240 in five classes, was reached. The increased repressions and harassments during the Nazi period are documented. After the November pogrom of 1938 only around 40-50 students remained who most likely all perished during the Holocaust.
