Scope and Content

The anti-Semitic book "Türkennoth und Judenherrschaft", written in 1894 by Rev. Dr. Joseph Deckert, contains three conference speeches, held on September 8th/9th/10th 1893 in the St. Joseph-Votivkirche in Vienna. The three speeches, "Kampf und Sieg 1683", "Die gegenwärtige Gefahr", "Die mögliche Rettung", deal not only with the situation in 1683 (the Second Turkish Siege), but also with the circumstances around 1883. In this course, in addition to the alleged domination of the Jews, typical anti-Semitic stereotypes/prejudices are also taken up.
