Chapter from Heinrich Mann’s book “Der Hass” called “Ihr Ordinärer Antisemitismus” (Their common Anti-Semitism). It decries the awful situation in Germany in 1933 and argues that contempt is worse than being hated. It gives some historical and psychological explanations for antisemitism and laments the exile of many notable artists and scientists.
