Scope and Content
Publication of a speech given by the antisemitic politician Max Liebermann von Sonnenberg in Bochum titled “The social question is foremost the Jewish question”. Sonnenberg gives examples of how “the Jew” is enticing honest farmers to buy from him on credit, thus becoming more and more dependent. Because of this thousands of farmers have lost their properties. He claims that the guilds that regulate crafts were destroyed on behest of Jewish interest. Honest craft work has to compete against cheap merchandise or false advertised prices. The press and the stock exchange are viewed by the author as other tools for gaining influence. He urges vigilance and self-help.
