Scope and Content
The publication gives a summary of the question of emancipation to be discussed by members of the government in Baden. The position of the government, and the civilian and political standing of the Jews will be discussed with the hope for progress and a positive outcome. The proportion of the Jewish population, the amount of children born out of wedlock, and other social concerns are compared to the larger Christian population. The resistance of communities with a small Jewish population to let Jews settle is criticized on the one hand, whereas the danger of Jewish overpopulation in other places is a cause of concern. Emancipation in other cities and countries (especially Holland) is discussed in a lively manner by the members of the parliament and documented in various footnotes and correspondence.
