Scope and Content

The publication gives a fiery argument for the importance of education and the high value it is given in Judaism. However the author is concerned about the decay of Judaism in Germany and tries to offer solutions for how it could be amended and – through education – be brought back on track. He argues against the attendance of Jewish children in public or Christian schools. Children are exposed to temptation and different values, and are more likely to become secular. The plight of Jewish teachers is addressed in the following chapter. It criticizes the lack of stable employment contracts, low salaries, lack of insurance and pension system. Finally the rise in Anti-Semitism is lamented and the tendency of Jews moving to big cities and towards higher education will further decrease early education in the Jewish faith.
