Scope and Content

Antisemitic publication addressing the so called „Jewish Question” for members of the German Order of Druids who - like freemasons - are supposed to be tolerant, and therefore cannot join in the antisemitic discourse without losing their principles. It quotes various cultural and historical figures regarding Jews (Tacitus, Luther, Frederik the Great, Maria Theresa, Fichte, Napoleon, R. Wagner, Bismarck a. o.). It then continues with the claim by Goldstein that 95% of all German newspapers are in Jewish hands or dependent on Jewish ideas, and the same can be said about the theater (Kunstwart 1912). Writings by D’Israeli, Conrad Alberti and Paul Meyer are mentioned. The next chapters describe the creation of the Old Testament and the Talmud. The Israelites were living and farming in Palestine and are represented by the house of Saul. They are credited as the writers of the Prophetic books, and are described as honest and naïve. The “Jews” are presented by the house of David (Juda) and are described as corrupt, cheating, nomadic intruders. All the lamentations of the prophets are directed towards the intruders. The author calls the prophets “Anti-Semites of the Bible”. Extensive quotes from the Shulchan Aruch are translated. They mainly concern dealings with Non-Jews. The chapter “Ein Rabbiner über die Gojim “ is a summary of the cemetery scene in the novel “Biarritz” by John Retcliffe, which influenced the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. The Jewish influence in the press is the topic of the next chapters. The list is quite extensive. The final chapters deal with Jewish plans for world domination.
