Scope and Content
The file contains three circulars (“Rundschreiben”) by the United Restitution Organization (Frankfurt) from July 1972. The first part and the last part of the file contain documents which belong to URO circular no. 1761 which is incomplete. The complete circulars include the following issues: no. 1762, no. 1760, and no. 1759. They mainly deal with recent court judgements made by the German Federal Court (Bundesgerichtshof) on questions of restitution after Nazi persecution, especially regarding juridical regulations and procedures for interest claims, and especially for health damages following the imprisonment at the ghetto of Czernowitz and forced labor. The topics include: „Zinsanspruch“ and „Gesundheitsschaden (Czernowitz, Ghettohaft, Zwangsarbeit“, but also: „Art. II ABs. 4 der 7. Änderungs-VO zur 2. DV-BEG“.
