Scope and Content

The file contains various documents of the United Restitution Office (London) regarding the legal framework of restitution published in 1950-1951. Furthermore, it contains 21 issues of the United Restitution Organization’s (URO, Frankfurt) circulars published in 1961 and 1962 under the title "URO Rundschreiben". The United Restitution Office’s announcements published in German in 1950 and 1951 mainly deal with laws and court judgements regarding the processes of restitution. Furthermore, the file contains a typewritten text by lawyer Franz Seligsohn entitled „Die Rückgewähr des empfangenen Kaufgelds im Rückerstattungsrecht“. Finally, the file contains the issues no. 850, no. 844, no. 852, no. 847, no. 843, no. 842, no. 838, no. 866, no. 863, no. 864, no. 862, no. 859, no. 861, no. 857, no. 856, no. 854, no. 853, no. 855, no. 837, no. 867, and no. 882 of the United Restitution Organization’s circular entitled “Rundschreiben” and published between October 1961 and January 1962. They mainly deal with recent court judgements on questions of restitution, especially regarding cases of professional disadvantages following the Nazi persecution (“Berufsschaden”), Nazi persecution in Italy (“Ferramonti”) and the renunciation or revocation of claims. Further topics are: "Härteausgleich", "Vertreibung", "Anrechnung von Unterhaltshilfe", "Eigentümerstellung für Umzugsgut", "Ausbildung", "Entschädigungsantrag und Verzicht", "Entschädigung für Verfolgungsmaßnahmen", "Verwirkung, Widerruf", "Mitarbeitende Ehefrau".
