Scope and Content
The file is part of a collection of dossiers created for each article mentioned in the French edition of The Key to the Mystery. Each file has a headline stating "Examination of the Clé du Mystère", number of article and short headline. It includes a cover page, a title, short headline, refutation, materials used (acquisition of books, etc.) and correspondence. A summary about the level of accuracy of the claim/quote is also included (true, but out of context, misquoted, false or not possible to verify). This folder deals with the claim that the red shield of the Rothschild family is the inspiration for the red flag, as a symbol of socialism, Karl Marx and communism. The writings of Caesar Conte Corti, Friedrich Edler von Scherb, John Reeves, M. E. Ravage, Christian Wilhelm Berghoeffer, Ignaz Balla, and Gustav Meyer are used to refute the claim. Another topic addressed is the declaration by a Jewish banker from New York on the involvement of Jewish bankers in the Russian Revolution, published by Count de Saint-Aulaire in his book "Genève contre la Paix". An essay by Manfred Reifer is taken out of context and explained in a letter by Dr. Mayer Ebner from July 18th 1939. Finally, one article compiles mass murders from the times of Old Egypt to the Spanish civil war and blames the Jews for its inspiration, planning, and execution.
