Extent and Medium
1 electronic resource (9 pages)
Scope and Content
The file contains the verdicts of Josef Dumka Sr. (born on 9 February 1883 in Domausnitz) and Josef Dumka Jr. (born on 21 October 1910 in Dolinek), who disobeyed the obligation to deliver parts of their crop. The perpetrator has deliberately deceived the authorities by announcing a low annual harvest in order to support his family and his daughter living in Prague by selling grain on the black market. In November of 1943 a farmer living in a nearby village told him about regular inspections - thereupon he and his son hid all of their unreported grain. On the next day, an official of the control commission came by and found dozens of sacks full of grain. Josef Dumka Sr. was found guilty of only reporting 78% of his yield and misleading the crop control commission. By helping his father to hide the grain Josef Dumka Jr. has made himself guilty as well. While he. got away with 10 months in jail his father was given a death penalty.
