Extent and Medium
2 electronic resources (9, 2 pages)
Scope and Content
The file lists extracts from German papers dealing with restrictions and persecution of members of the free professions (lawyers, judges, architects). One article reports about the arrest of defense lawyer Drucker in the middle of a trial by the local police on order of the SA. The court was sojourned. A lawyer in Cologne was expelled from the NS-Juristenbund (association of lawyers) because he refused to answer to the German greeting. In Düsseldorf authorities are asked to report "bad" architects to their professional association. Finally the doctor association passed a rule that doctors who do not reflect the spirit of national socialism can be prohibited from practicing their profession. A process has started to revoke his license. Each quote is followed by the name of the newspaper, date and vol. number, sometimes the author is listed.
