Concentration Camps in Germany and the occupied territories
Extent and Medium
2 electronic resources (1, 4 pages)
Scope and Content
The file is a two page list of concentration camps in Nazi-Germany and occupied territories incl. Poland and Norway after October 6th, 1941. It tries to give an estimate of potential inmates. Each camp is designed for 6000 prisoners. It questions official information provided by Nazi sources. The author has knowledge that after the November pogrom in 1938 (Kristallnacht), 15.000 prisoners were held in each camp. The file also mentions that two camps listed are for women only (Lichtenburg, Ravensbrück) who were - contrary to its predecessor camp Moringen - managed exclusively by the SS. Concentration camps in Norway were planned at this date. No information about actual camps was available.
