Nazi Remarks Derogatory to Greece
Extent and Medium
2 electronic resources (18, 2 pages)
Scope and Content
The file contains a collection of quotes from books published in Nazi Germany between 1929-1943. Each quote is listed on a separate page with a headline stating the title of the book, author, publisher and publishing date. Most books were used for propaganda purposes and as school books. The quotes selected refer to Greece and its current population who - according to Nazi Propaganda - are inferior to their classical ancestors. Most authors were specialists in their chosen field and participated and contributed their knowledge to shape Nazi ideology. Dr. Hans F. K. Günther (Rassengeschichte des hellenischen und des römischen Volkes) was especially influential on Nazi Racial Thought.
