Extent and Medium
2 online resources (2, 19 pages)
Scope and Content
The file contains information on the role of local government officers during the Nazi regime. Local officials were expected to be National Socialist role models in their work life and private life. It was not enough for German officials to be part of the Nazi party, they had to be propagandists. Officers with no children had to give an explanation on why they are still childless. Following the Nazi ideals also meant not being associated with Jews. The documents contain a report on a some mayors who were dismissed for not fulfilling the Nazi party ideals, one of them was let go for buying from a Jewish merchant.
