Ernst Goldenbaum (1898 - 1990) was a German communist politician and farmer, who was a survivor of the Concentration Camp Neuengamme and the air attack on the ocean liner “SS Cap Arcona”. After the war he joined the Socialist Unity Party (SED) of East Germany (GDR), but in 1948 he co-founded the communist-sponsored Democratic Farmers' Party of Germany (DBD). The DBD was a close ally of the SED. Until 1982, Goldenbaum was the Chairman of the party.
