Thomas Dehler was a prominent postwar liberal politician of West Germany. He was vice chairman of the Bundestag from 1960 until his death in 1967, and was a leading member of the Free Democratic party. He was West Germany's Minister of Justice in the years 1949-1953 and struggled for the exemption of Nazi crimes from the Statute of limitations -- Wikipedia
