  • Galeazzo Ciano was the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs in the years 1935-1943. He was the son in law of Benito Mussolini and a supporter of the alliance of Italy with Germany. When he became increasingly dissatisfied with the way Benito Mussolini was running the country, and after voting for the replacement of Mussolini he left rome but was cought by the Germans and put on trial for treason, on the orders of Mussolini. He was shot in his back as a traitor -- (Spartacus Educational)
