Hedwig Courths-Mahler was a most prolific author of popular fiction. She was famous for her romance novels and formula-fiction which were estimated very lowly. She was a member and sponsor of the SS and a member of the Reich Chamber of Culture, although she did not always toe the Nazi party line. So later on she became an "undesirable author" in the eyes of the Nazis -- (Wikipedia and Discover Lichtenberg)
