Scope and Content
The file contains four leaflets released between 1927 and 1934 in Germany by various Communist and social democratic groups and parties. The typewritten leaflet by the Communist Party of Germany (KPD)/Young Communist League of Germany (Kommunistischer Jugendverband Deutschlands, KJVD) in 1934 calls its readers to boycott the fundraising activities organized by the Nazi government within the framework of the “Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes” (Winter Relief of the German People). The second leaflet is undated and was created by the “Allgemeine Arbeiter-Union/Freie Arbeiter-Union (Syndikalisten), who are calling for international solidarity and an economic boycott of Spain under fascist rule. The third leaflet by the “Arbeiter-Opposition der K.P.D. Gross-Hamburg” in May 1927 is against Stalinist tendencies and oppression within the Communist Party of Hamburg, as well as against the position of the Communist journal “Hamburger Volkszeitung” within the Party’s internal struggles. Finally, a fourth leaflet by the Social Democratic Party of Germany (Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands, SPD) in February 1930 criticizes the Communist activities as riots, and calls for the workers to support the SPD.
