United Restitution Organization (URO)

The file contains eight circulars (“Rundschreiben”) by the United Restitution Organization (Frankfurt) from July and October 1973. The circulars include the following issues: no. 1817, no. 1816, no. 1815, no. 1814, no. 1812, no. 1811, no. 1810, and no. 1809. They mainly deal with recent court judgements made by the German Federal Court (Bundesgerichtshof) on questions of restitution after Nazi persecution, especially regarding juridical regulations and procedures for health damages following Nazi persecution, regarding pensions for wives of Nazi victims, and juridical decisions regarding the belonging to the German cultural sphere, the costs of healing cures, and finally on various questions regarding the procedures of the claims.
