Scope and Content

The file contains various typewritten documents related to the trial Norbert Wollheim vs. IG Farben. The documents include two protocols of testimony hearings at the Frankfurt district court’s public sessions held in November 1952. Among the witnesses heard at the court are both former forced laborers of the Buna-Monowitz camp functioning as a corporate concentration for IG Farben as well as former employees of IG Farben and related companies involved in the organization of the Buna-Monowitz camp. The testimonies mostly deal with the forced laborer’s living conditions at the camp. Furthermore, the file contains a statement of 19 typewritten pages formulated by the lawyer representing Norbert Wollheim, Henry Ormond, and countering various declarations made by IG Farben on the treatment of forced laborers.
