Scope and Content
The file contains the copy of the second part of Otto Bräutigam’s handwritten diary started in June 1941 a few days before the attack of Nazi Germany against the Soviet Union. The first entry of this copy is the continuation of his entry from September 30, 1941 dealing with a visit in East Prussia, including meetings with Adolf Hitler. This second copy of the diary deals with the military situation of Germany, his meetings with representatives of Nazi Germany, the war entry of the United States in December 1941, and the war events of 1942 until July. Between July 1942 and December 1942, he did not continue his diary, but reflects on the events in retrospect.
