Scope and Content
The file contains several letters regarding Jonak von Freyenwald. In 1936 he met with the son of Nilus, Sergjusz von Nilus, in Warsaw in order to get the remaining letters of his father. Freyenwald was about to publish a book and he assumed important informations for his book in these letters. Unfortunately these letters never arrived in Vienna, therefor letters regarding these topic can be seen in this file. Sergjusz von Nilus was very intersted in handling the documents over, as Freyenwald promised him half of the earnings. Freyenwald wrote several letters to people who might have the original book of Sergieĭ Nilus and some other documents of him, letters to the wife, Walentyna Nilus, the daughter, Tatjana Sztybel and Son of Nilus. Also translated letters, from Russian to German, relating to Nilus archive and the 'Jewish question' are attached. In addition some acknowledgment of receipts respective the correspondences are contained.
