[Documents regarding Jonak von Freyenwald]
Extent and Medium
1 electronic resource (49 pages)
Scope and Content
The file contains several transcriptions, letter, handwritten nots and reports regarding Jonak von Freyenwald. Hans Jonak von Freyenwald was an anti-Semite from Austria, member of the NSDAP and a publicist. He wanted to make sure that the anti-Semitic newspapers and publication were quoting and reporting correctly, as misquotations and false reporting would undermine the credibility of the news and further of the National Socialism. Correspondences between him, the 'Welt-Dienst' and other official institutions in the years of 1938 till 1940 can be seen. Topics of the correspondences were mostly misquotation done by several newspapers, like the 'Welt-Dienst'. The 'Welt-Dienst' quotet for example from the magazine the 'Jewish world', but this quote did not exist in that magazine. Consequently Freyenwald informed the 'Welt-Dienst' and made sure, that the organisation understood how important proper quotation is, especially if they want to achieve something bigger.
