Scope and Content
The file contains several reports regarding Hitlers background as well as development and the rise of the National-Socialist German Workers Party. The report beginns with Hitlers Birthday in 1889, where he was born as son of small official. The feeling of beeing degraded by the social circumstances in which he was bought up and in which he had to lead his life in his younger days never left him. The years he spent in Viena were years of much frustration. Afterwards the report continues explaining in detail the following actions of Hitler and the NSDAP. After his groundwork Hitler was appointed to the German Chancellor of Reich President Paul von Hindenburg on 30 January 1933. Within months, his regime suppressed with terror, emergency decrees, organizational - and outlaw parties, the pluralist democracy, the federalism and the rule of law. Political opponents were imprisoned in concentration camps, tortured and murdered. 1934 let Hitler on the occasion of the "Röhm Putsches" murder potential rivals in their own ranks. He used Hindenburg's death on August 2, 1934, to combine the office of Reich President with that of the Chancellor, and since then has ruled as "Führer und Reichskanzler". Furthermore reports regarding the rise of the SA, its role before and after 1933 are attached. It has been constantly asserted by the National Socialist Leaders that it was the brown shirts who won the internal political battle which brought Hitler into power, but they did not enjoy the expected fruits of victory. Even though they remained a prominent and respected feature of the National Socialist public life. An other report shows in detail data of the NSDAP, 'a history of National-Socialism'. It starts with the year of 1918, where Anton Drexler set up a 'Committee of Independence Workmen' and it finishes with the 28th of November 1933 with the creation by Dr. Ley of the organisation 'Strenght through Joy'.
