Scope and Content
This file contains a collection of reports by Paul Anderson and James Norman. In the "decree NO. 10 or design for total slavery" as James Norman calls his work, he reports about August 22nd 1942, a 'date which wont be forgotten by the common people in Europe'. At that day Hitler's Supreme Labour Dictator Sauckel put his signature to a new government order by which every fit man or woman is liable to be conscripted to work for Germany's war industry and thus for Germany's victory. The new order is called 'Decree No. 10' and layed down the law that workers in all occupied countries were subject to such rules regarding wages, hours, working conditions, penalties and punishments as were issued centrally by the Reich government. It was a beginning of an entirely new, gigantic German effort to reorganise Europe into a workshop for victory: a super-national warmachine, in which the performance of Slovak, Danish and French workers could be coordinated by the central authorities in Berlin. It was Sauckel's try to solve the man-power problems in Germans war industry. As the author argues, the decree No. 10 is a design for total slavery. An other report discusses the question of what 'happend to Hitler's man'? The author argues, after the second Soviet counter offensive and Hitler's second retreat in the East the German east front soldiers had changed. The army was so different from the armies that conquered Poland and France and overran the European Continent that it might belong to an other generation. Further reports entitled as "I was a Siemens worker", "Hitler's enemy Aliens' and 'Internal changes in Germany' are also regarding war workers or the war industry in general. In addition a report dealing with 'solving the Jewish problem' is attached. Since the outbrak of the German-Russian war the Jewish persecution and mass-execution increased drastically.
