Scope and Content
The file contains several reports written by Paul Anderson, regading the mind controlling system of the Communist Government, the working conditions, as well as the living conditions of the people. Throughout the twelve years of Hitler rule people lived under the iron heel of the Nazi laws. As Anderson argues, the actual conditions under the Communist Government have remained almost entirely unchanged. Changed have only the names, the party symbols and the political terminology. Furthermore an article about Gerhardt Eisler, who was was a German politician can be seen. Along with his sister Ruth Fischer, he was a very early member of the Austrian German Communist Party (KPDÖ) and then a prominent member of the Communist Party of Germany. Also a series of reports titled 'The country of the blind, who ans what are the Bolsheviki?' is attached. The reports are based on the book of Prof. George S. Counts, who traveled to the Soviet Union several times in the course of his life, writing several books about Soviet education and comparing Soviet and American education systems. Anderson argues that, as also Counts said, mind controlling has been an important concern of the Stalinist-Bolshevik rulers of the Soviet Union. "They may indeed claim to have achieved a higher degree of 'completeness' in mind control than any other system of dictatorial government." The fundamentally anti-democratic concept of modern Bolshevism was using education as a weapon, whose effect depends on who it holds and at whom it is aimed. Also cultural events, like theaters, the literatur and film industry have been controlled by the government.
