Scope and Content

The file contains several newspapers articles regarding the Moral Re-Armament (MRA), founded by Dr. Buchman in 1938. The articles cover the years of 1923 till 1952 and are written in English, German and French. Most of the articles discribe the situation and the distribution of MRA in England, moreover the distribution of the MRA around the world, like Japan, has been discussed. MRA was an international moral and spiritual movement that, in 1938, developed from American minister Frank Buchman's Oxford Group. But there have been also criticism on Dr. Buchman, that he sympathize with Hitler. Therefore Moral Re-Armament has always been a controversial organization, resulting from its strident anti-Communist positions as well as from Buchman's open admiration of Hitler. Furthermore other counterpart organization, as well as Communist Party mainly also in Great Britain have been discussed. Also voices of the British people and the government are published.
