Extent and Medium
1 electronic resource (78 pages)
Scope and Content
The file contains a correspondence between the Gestapo, Hans Hinkel and the Behörde für Volkstum, Kirche und Kust (Authority for folklore, church and art) in Hamburg. The exchange of letters between the Kulturbund and Hans Hinkel, Reich Ministry for the People's Enlightenment and Propaganda, is regarding the approval for activities and personalities. Furthermore letters revealing the delayed approval of the Kulturbund in Hamburg can be seen, as the Gestapo had to check and approve the chairmen of the Kulturbund Hamburg in order of Hinkel. Also programs of the Jüdische Gesellschaft für Kunst und Wissenschaft in Hamburg e.V (Jewish Society for Art and Science in Hamburg) are attached. In these informations about theater plays, lectures, music events and gatherings for the Jewish community in Hamburg are presented. The Jüdische Gesellschaft für Kunst und Wissenschaft in Hamburg e.V was established in 1933 and in 1935 it amalgamated with the Kulturbund.
