Les Criminals de Guerre

Scope and Content
The file contains papers concerning the Einer Gustav Aberg trial in Stockholm in 1947. The papers are relating to the evidence for the prosecution of Aberg. Most of the papers are written in German, English and French. The papers contain evidence on the background of common anti-semitic 'quotation'. The file includes collected material based on the publications of Aberg and his misquotations. For the trial photostats of certain pages of selected works written by several authors were gathered, to show details of distortion in quotation, denials of spurious statements and related correspondence. For example he quoted and used a speech of Rabbi Reichhorn, which records the history of the forgery, because this Rabbi who was supposed to have delivered the speech was a figure of non-existent. This example is based on common anti-semitic 'quotation'. Rabbi Reichhorn allegedly said in part: "For centuries the Sons of Israel have been despised and persecuted, but they have fought bravely to prepare the way for victory. Now they are approaching their aim. They already dominate the economic life of the damned Christians; their influence is just as great in politics and in moral fields. At the wished for hour, fixed in advance, we shall let loose the revolution, which by ruining all classes of Christians will definitely enslave Christendom to us. Thus will be accomplished the promise of God made to his people." This and other statements have been used by Aberg to publish his anti-semitic leaflets and brochures in Sweden and abroad. In the trial it was pointed that this and other quotations contain the essence of the conspiracy. He got sentenced to fines and prison.
