Scope and Content
The file details efforts of the German embassy in London in order to influence British public oppinion positively in regards to the German nationalsocialist government and its internal and external politics. The propaganda efforts undertaken by the German embassy include setting up information offices, news agencies, sponsoring of British citizens activities sympathetic to Germany, invitations of speakers, support of biased journalists as well as British Nazi sympathizers. The efforts also include misinformation efforts, Anti-Communist propaganda, as well as the cultivation of relationships with high ranking members of British society in order to improve the perception of Germany and its interests in the highest circles in pre-World War II Britain.
