Scope and Content

The file contains a report by a journalist about the social conditions of Jews in Poland during the years of 1941 and 1942. One example he points out is the chasing of the Jews out of their homes on the street, on the 9th of March 1941 at 5 o'clock in the morning, on the streets many were immediately shot. A few hundred are brought to small villages and then shot. After their kick out of their flats, many of their pictures and objects of art have been used by Germans for facilities such as offices, canteens and above all private apartments. The apartments of the wealthy Jews who were arrested or murdered were also quickly looted. The Jews in Rawa Ruska, Opole and other cities in Poland have hit the same cruel fate. From small dissolved ghettos Jews were transferred to the Warsaw Ghetto. In such actions the elderly, the sick and the disabled, mostly passed away on the way. Thus the places like Rembertow, Milosno, Zielonka and Manki have been "cleaned" of Jews.
