Scope and Content
The file contains two documents. One is a note of the regional commissioner of occupied Belarus who states concern about the transfer of German Jews to Minsk since the city is mostly destroyed and there's so little food that locals already die from starvation. The other document is from the areal commissioner of Baranowicze (signed Fenz) and reveals some disaccord about the handling of the Jews. It begins with a statement that the Jews had to be "convinced" that resistance is fruitless. It then states that the Wehrmacht employs not only skilled Jews but also Jews that could be replaced. This is described as an obstacle to the solution of the Jewish Question. In the end there's a statement answering a complain of the Wehrmacht that the civil administration is too ruthless. The statement reveals that the SS and sometimes the Wehrmacht themselves are so "radical" that they murder skilled Jews. It also states that the Wehrmacht executed all the Jews in the town Mir.
