Scope and Content
This file contains clips from the newspaper Le Démocrate and L'effort (dated to the 4th March 1938, Switzerland). The both present the Legal opinion regarding the first and second instance of the Bern trial, in which the main concern is the question of the Protocols as immoral Literature. It argues that the publications could not be considered as immoral literature by the Bernois law since they do not contain corrupting characteristics. Instead, the Jewish question examined in these publications should be view as a Political Question. This opinion also mentions the fact that these publications refer to the Jews as an inferior race, and there is no effective juridical protection in hand that can answer to the complaints that may follow.
