Scope and Content

The file contains newspaper cuttings of 1928 and 1930 published by the CentralVerein-Zeitung, Berlin, concerning documents on the position of Judaism in religious persecution. The CentralVerein newspaper was a Jewish weekly newspaper that appeared between 1922 and 1938 in Germany. The CVZ was the club organ of the German-Jewish organization Centralverein German citizen of Jewish faith. Among the Jewish population, the CVZ enjoyed great popularity. It was the political weekly with the highest circulation within the German-Jewish press. An article by Leo Baerwald, who wrote about the connection of events all over the world and in this context, especially the theoretical freedom of religion and its practical persecution in Mexico. Everything was forbidden which is catholic, punishments were arranged with non-observance of the new rules. The second article deals with anti-religious measures from Moscow. The fight of Moscow against God, as the title states.
