Scope and Content
The testimony of Mrs. K about her many-year-long acquaintance with Sergeĭ Nilus. She tells of her life on the estate near the monastery where Nilus lived, and of the odd assortment of religious personages the monastery attracted at the time. According to her, Nilus insinuated himself into the good graces of the monastery abbot, and used his position as "a writer" to gain access to the archive documents, sometimes, for good. He was also, according to the testimony, a polygamist, living with his ex-wife, and current wife, at the same time. Mrs. K states that Nilus used his wife's former position as lady-in-waiting to gain access to the court, and used it to promote several strange religious types. The Russian original is also translated into German.
