Scope and Content
Two documents pertaining to the biography of Sergieĭ Nilus; The first - the impressions of a certain Mrs. K about Sergieĭ Nilus, based on her encounters with him around 1914 in the village of Koster, as related to Boris Nicolaevsky. She explains in detail how the area where they were living was looking and how Nilus used to work. How he got his information and documents for his books and studies. Furthermore she admired his knowledge and liked to have interesting talks with him.The second file is a report of the last years in the life of Nilus. This reportr describes in detail how Nilus lived his life after the revolution. He moved, together with his wife, to the Poltaw governorate in the estate, which belonged formerly Fürst N.D. Jawachoff. Nilus was arrested in 1925 and in the interrogation through the G.P.U the Protocols were mentioned. The examining judge accused Nilus of doing great harm with his literary activity. However, he was not convicted. In 1927 he was arrested again and then banished from Moscow. He died on January 1, 1929, the time in prison affected his health.
