Scope and Content
This file contains newspaper clips from several countries written in German, English and French. The clippings were published during 1937 and deal with different topics concerning the Berne trial. On the one hand, testimonial statements and expert statements concerning bible researchers are analyzed in more detail. Furthermore, the judgments of the Bernese court is explained and discussed. The falsified Protocols of wise men of Zion are again illustrated and compared with the testimonies. Also the history of the falsified Protocols is reconstructed in the newspaper clippings again. In addition, an international conference of the Welt-Dienst took place in Erfurt from 2 to 5 September 1937, in which the verdict of the Berne trial was discussed, with the result that the conference participants decided that the verdict wrong. The report explains the misjudgment and why Fleischhauer, as an expert, proved the authenticity of the Protocols. Other newspapers report about the trial before the high court (Berner Obergericht), which refused the obligation of the private plaintiffs to pay the costs of defence of the acquitted defendants explaining that "the one who circulates such sort of most vulgar instigating articles has to pay himself the costs resulting from them."
