Scope and Content
The file contains the first Bulletin from a series of Bulletins dealing with events in the Bern trial. It has been published by the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities in Switzerland. This Bulletin is regarding the first day of trial on the 29th of April 1935. Since autumn 1934 the trial has been prepared in order to hear the case of the 'Protocols of the Wise man of Zion' and at this day at 9 o'clock the trial was opened by judge Walter Meyer. The Bulletin informs about the petitioners and the defendants, the witnesses which will be called during the trial and when the expert opinions are heard. Furthermore general informations are given, which concern the previous trials regarding false statements and defamation. In addition Prof. Baumgarten presents his expertise in the court. The session was closed at 12.15 pm.
