Scope and Content
Letter from Markov to Toedli concerning his financial state. He attaches a letter that he wishes Toedli to forward, as he has no money for postal stamps. In general he laments about the financial difficulties in which he and other immigrants find themselves. He states that Gen. Spiridovich is willing to testify and is extremely aware of matters concerning Rachkovskiĭ, but also has no funds for travel. He states that Spiridovich claims he has proof the Russian government had nothing to do with the protocols. He and Nechvolodov are preparing the line for the defense, so far the testimonies he heard were only destructive and he suggests coordinating behavior and testimonies before the trial. He suggests getting the expertise of Madame L. Fry, from England. A summary in French follows.
