Scope and Content
The special edition of The Frankfurter Zeitung from 1939 contains “Berichte aus dem Osten”. (Reports from the East) in “liberated” Poland. The situation of Polish rule in the former territories of the East is explained and criticized. A special emphasis is put on the agricultural sector and the challenges it faces through the “agrarreform”. The supposed atrocities committed against ethnic Germans during the first days of the war are heavily discussed.
