Greece fights for freedom !
Extent and Medium
1 electronic resource (31 pages)
Scope and Content
The pamphlet was compiled by the Greek-American Labor Committee as a dedication for “the heroic people of Greece” in their fight against Nazism and for democracy. It includes facts about the Greek People’s Resistance Movement in its various forms (EAM, EDES, EKKA). The publication puts a great emphasis on the fact that the resistance is strongly anti-fascist. It describes a meeting of underground leaders in Cairo that led to Greek guerilla armies being placed under the Middle East Allied Command. The return of the King to Greece is strongly opposed for various reasons which are stated in a separate chapter. In light of the Declarations of the Moscow conference the Greek-American Labor proposes continuing the fight by the side of the Allies, organizing relief, and upon liberation holding a plebiscite to decide the future form of regime.
