The publication in the series “Heimabend” of the “Kleine Bücherei der freien deutschen Jugend” (little library of the German Youth) was created for a gathering in the memory of young fighters against fascism by the cultural department in the FDJ in Thuringia. It reminisces on “12 years of darkness” through poems (including "Kinderkreuzzug” by Bertold Brecht), a play, songs, and other works.
