Transferred from the Rijeka city commission to investigate war crimes (in 1947).
Scope and Content
Contains files from the Main Cabinet; Foreigners' office; and the Public safety agents headquarters files. The Cabinet files consist of files for both private persons and public institutions; and files ranged from A1 (general information); A2 (warnings of assassinations); A3 (information on associations); A4 (surveillance of people 1924-1929, reports and information on partizan actions and legal proceedings against them; their families and accomplices; A6 (information on periodicals); A7 (information on politically subversive people from the Kvarner region); A8 and A9 (politically subversive people from the outside of the Kvarner region); C 1 (national security agents); etc. (Misc.; Finance). Office for Foreigners contains personal and thematic dossiers related to foreign countries and their nationals, and the Office's personnel files and records of public security agents, writings about their tasks and performances, salaries and grants, equipment, supplies, health and moral condition (sic), discipline, police barracks, travel expenses.
Conditions Governing Access
Available in accordance with the Law on Archives and Archival Material (Official Gazette 105/1997), the Regulations on the use of archival material (OG 67/1999) and the Rules of Procedure of the State Library Archives in Rijeka. Personnel files are fully available to the public after seventy years of creation of the material, that is, one hundred years since the birth of individuals (2015).
