Biographical History
Dr. Bruno Kirschner (1884-1964) was a Jewish-German writer, Judaist and editor. He had emigrated to Palestine in 1937 where he would work for the Leo Baeck Institute later. In the late 1950s he was involved in the foundation of the Germania Judaica in Cologne, a special library for the history of German Jews.
Scope and Content
Following the (re)establishment of contact by Alfred Wiener the correspondence focuses on the recap of common friends, family members or certain events, the exchange of published material, and a restitution related enquiry on the situation of Jews in Romania in 1940/41.
