Biographical History

Dr Leo Kirsch was a Jewish-German lawyer who had fled to England after the Nazis came to power. Since 1956 he was partner in a newly formed law office in London specialized on Jewish restitution claims against West Germany.

Scope and Content

Correspondence regarding various subjects including personal matters, like support for Kirsch’s daughter during a stay in London or the description of a trip to Israel, as well as professional matters, like a restitution related enquiry on details of the expulsion and eviction of Jewish Poles from Nazi Germany in October 1938.
