Biographical History

Clive “Teddy” Teddern was born Kurt Tebrich on 14 September 1923 to Martin, a doctor in Hamburg, and Ruth. He left Hamburg for the UK on a Kindertransport on 29 March 1939. During the war, he served in the Pioneer Corps. In 1949 he married Gaggi. He also became a member of The Hyphen social club for young Jewish refugees and edited its newsletter The Hyphen News.

Scope and Content

The bulk of the collection is materials produced in Clive Teddern’s role as editor of The Hyphen News. Also included are his memoirs and papers of the Otto Hirsch Chapter of the B'nai B'rith Youth Organisation.
