Biographical History

Nelly Wilson née Jussem was born in 1930 in Vienna into a Jewish family. Her father, Leon Jussem (1880-1935) was born in Lemberg and her mother, Regina née Rawer (1896-1944) was born in Drohobitch, Poland. Sophie Hertz, née Jussem, her sister (b. 1920), came to Great Britain before the outbreak of World War II. Both Nelly and her mother were sent to Terezin. Regina was killed at Auschwitz but Nelly managed to survive the Holocaust and eventually became resident in Great Britain.
