Biographical History

The author of this letter, Lilian Alice Schweizer, was born in the USA, the daughter of immigrants from Germany and Austria. Having gone to school in New York City's Lower East Side, she began her working life as an actress and dancer. It was whilst on tour with an acting troupe in Europe that she wrote this letter from Berlin.
